Happy Thanksgiving, Twin Peaks Classical Academy!
"I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual. It is surprising how contented one can be with nothing definite - only a sense of existence." - Henry David Thoreau

Giving Tuesday is on December 3rd this year. Our Giving Tuesday donations will be used to stock our teacher supply closets! We believe our teachers should be able to spend their time preparing great lessons and helping students, not worrying about the supplies they need to teach! We have supply closets that are available to our staff at all times! Please consider donating to this cause and supporting our great staff! Your radical generosity helps make Twin Peaks Classical Academy the amazing school that it is! Link is live now! https://square.link/u/CtHHzQBr?src=sms

We have some exciting news to share! As Ms. Burns transitions to the Executive Director role, Dr. Aaron Moe has accepted the Secondary Principal position. Please join us in welcoming him to another role at Twin Peaks Classical Academy!
Dr. Moe taught middle school English at Twin Peaks Classical Academy from 2005-2010, after which he left to pursue and earn his doctorate at Washington State University (Go Cougs!!). In 2014, he joined Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, as an assistant professor, but in 2019 it was time to come home. Home to family. Home to the mountains. And home to TPCA! Arriving full circle, he returned as a middle school English teacher and transitioned to high school literature shortly after. In 2024, he took on an assistant principal role and is now excited to become the 6-12 principal.
Congratulations, Dr. Moe!

Last week, 5 of our fifth grade students had the opportunity to participate in the St. Vrain Valley School District Elementary Choral Festival! Taking part in this event required a commitment from the students to learn their music at home. On the day of the festival, they joined with students from all the elementary schools across the district to rehearse for a concert that evening. They put on a great performance and we appreciate their representing TPCA in the wider community!
A huge thank you to Ms. Mahoney for her help preparing the students for the event and supporting their participation! Thank you also to Ms. Carpenter and her high school choir students for giving our elementary choir students surprise gifts and encouragement before the festival!

Happy Veterans Day! We are grateful to live with the freedoms we have. We owe our liberty entirely to those that have served to secure it.

Our 3rd grade classes have been learning about vision. They recently did a cow eye dissection to help them better understand the parts of the eye!

Over 200 attendees, 27 community trunks, two highland cows, and thousands of pieces of candy later, we need to extend a huge "THANK YOU" to our TPCA community for showing up, participating in, and supporting our best Trunk or Treat yet! We absolutely love to host events like this for our families and local community and we couldn't do it without the fabulous vendors, volunteers and supporters who show up year after year.

On Thursday, Modern World History Honors debated the question "Is Artificial Intelligence good for society?" The students considered Enlightenment thought (including writers like Montesquieu and Rousseau) when defining what is good for society and A.I.'s role towards that aim. All groups were well prepared, artfully combining Enlightenment philosophy with modern world examples.

During Latin class, Twin Peaks high school students work together to identify parts of speech.

The Cast and Crew of our Fall Play, Eurydice, had a fantastic time working with Mrs. Dialma Jensen last week on their acting techniques! Mrs. Jensen is not just a Twin Peaks parent, but also a professional actress! Her bio is attached below:
Born in Puerto Rico, Dialma Jensen started acting when she was just three years old. Dialma grew up backstage and on the stage because her father was an actor and he included her in all the theater events he did for his community and church. When she graduated high school, she decided to study acting and got her bachelor's degree in Dramaturgy and Humanities at the University of Puerto Rico in 1998. Acting, directing and costuming is something she is very passionate about, but put a pause on her career 20 years ago to focus on having a family and being there for them all. Some of her favorite plays she has participated in are The Crucible and The Little Prince, in which she played The Little Prince! While she is not an active professional actress currently, she finds ways to keep her passion alive by helping with her daughter's theatre programs and coming up with family themed costumes for Halloween every year. We are lucky to have Dialma as a part of our Twin Peaks Community!

Twin Peaks Classical Academy is hosting our Open House on November 14th at 6PM. This event is a BIG night with many different things happening! We are inviting all potential PK-12 families hoping to learn more about us AND any current families in a transition year (PK, 5th, 8th) as they prepare to make the next step with us! Help us spread the word! We believe EVERY family deserves to know about all of the wonderful things that are happening here! We can't wait to see everyone there!

Hey Timberwolves! TPCA generally follows SVVSD inclement weather notifications. We will communicate with you as well. A few notable exceptions: If we have a snow day we do not have online learning! We may call our own snow day or late start day since most of our student are brought to school by our parents. If we have a 2-hour delay, breakfast will not be served. Joe Mehsling
